Why I built Sheaf
More time for
the research itself.
I’m Samuel, a Senior Machine Learning Engineer and Scientist. I’ve spent more than eight years applying machine learning to drug discovery, with a focus on target discovery.
Keeping up with new scientific papers often felt impossible. The existing ways of working took too much time and made a part of research I wanted to enjoy feel like a chore.
I started building Sheaf for myself: to work faster, stay better informed and make sense of the research that mattered to me. As it grew, I realised it could help other researchers too.
Sheaf is my way of sharing that work—so we can spend less time keeping track of the literature and more time exploring what it means.

How are papers chosen for me?
Your research interests provide a starting point. Your saved papers and save/pass feedback help personalise future recommendations. Each shortlist card explains why the paper relates to your interests.
Will I see every relevant paper?
No. Sheaf provides a manageable selection from the research it has available, not an exhaustive literature search. The number of papers can vary. It is a way to keep up alongside your other research tools.
Can I add papers I already know?
Yes. Add an individual paper using an arXiv link or DOI and organise saved papers into collections. Manual addition limits depend on your plan.
Can I use Sheaf on my phone?
The native iOS app is designed for the daily shortlist and collections, with optional notifications when papers are ready. Contact us for current iOS access. Creating a web account does not install the iOS app.
Should I rely on a summary instead of reading the paper?
Summaries and extracted details are generated aids and can be incomplete or mistaken. Use them to decide what to read, then check the original paper before relying on a claim.
How do I get help?
